PRSEA:
Potomac Region Solar Energy Association

is a regional non-profit organization dedicated to fostering the development and use of solar energy resources. To achieve this goal, PRSEA develops awareness of solar energy issues, promotes renewable energy technologies, fosters educational opportunities, and supports policies friendly to solar energy and the environment, throughout the region. PRSEA operates in the Potomac Region, which as it suggests, is in the general area of the watershed of the Potomac River.

PRSEA is a local chapter of the American Solar Energy Association. PRSEA supports renewable energy and sustainable living programs in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, D.C. We are a member supported organization working through volunteer efforts to bring about a better tomorrow.

Why the Potomac Region?

Because this region contains economic and geographic areas that have generally similar features -- such as natural and non-renewable energy resources, types of buildings and industries, and socioeconomic -- what is learned and promoted by the Association is generally applicable from a climatic, geographic, architectural, economic and social perspective.

We also believe a regional approach to meeting the energy efficiency challenges we face will provide for a more sustainable future -- we are in essence following the axiom -- think globally and act locally.
